Meet Taylor: Clean Wine, Feel Fine!
Taylor is a firecracker! She is passionate about giving her clients access to clean wines that don’t leave you with a headache! Her business goes so much deeper than a glass of wine- read to get to know the reason behind what’s in the glass!
Can you share a little of your journey with us and who you are?
I learned about Scout and Cellar last fall, and I was very interested in the woman who was talking about it- she shared with me that we should really take seriously what we put in our bodies- including wine. The business opportunity was also something I didn’t want to miss- this company is extremely unique in what they sell- clean, safe, organic wines that support local farmers!
Tell us about the mission of your brand and how it empowers women.
The mission of Scout and Cellar is bringing clean crafted wine to everyone- it’s about knowing what is going into the wine making process. It does apply to those who want to take a more clean approach- it empowers people to make healthier decisions when they drink- here’s how wine makes you feel and why. There is a lot of freedom in knowledge- to be able to choose what we put in our bodies. We also empower small wineries around the world. They don’t mass produce wine so we are giving a smaller wine makers a voice and platform to be recognized and sell their product. The third piece as well is our founder is a women- I heard her speak at an event in Houston and she is so authentic- she has lived her life in an authentic way and I rememebr thinking that she is a leader I want to follow. She actually created her own lab testing process to ensure the clean craftedness of the wine- one time she had a batch of wine ready to go but it didn’t pass the test- they found trace amounts of a wine that shouldn’t be there! She could’ve gone with it but she took a loss instead to make a call based on character!
What advice would you give to female entrepreneurs in the beginning stages of launching their brand or business?
This advice is advice that I need to take for myself. The book “Get Out Of Your Head” highlights the theme of just doing it- it doesn’t mean doing it alone but it means surrounding yourself with like-minded women who will support and guide you along the way. You must build your community because on a bad day, your women will remind you of what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to press through as a female entrepreneur? What are the steps you had to take to overcome it?
One of the biggest challenges has been to get out of my own way so to speak. It is pretty uncomfortable when starting something new and requires a lot of vulnerability and courage to stand your ground, speak your truth, and put you and your brand out there. No one likes rejection, so I always have to come back to my values. I value authenticity and transparency. I value empowerment. So how did I overcome being nervous to talk about Scout and Cellar and build the brand? I pushed past the discomfort and reminded myself of why I joined Scout and Cellar. I then surrounded myself with other female entrepreneurs to form a network of boss women who are also in the arena.
What sets your brand apart from others?
Some brands may preach about a product with low carbohydrates and low sugar to fit the latest diet trends. Scout and Cellar is more than diet compliance. Our mission is about adopting a more holistic, natural approach by drinking clean-crafted wine. Clean-crafted means that no chemicals, preservatives, or additives are added at ANY point during the growing, harvesting, or fermenting processes. Other companies are not taking this comprehensive approach - that's what makes our wine different. It's just the grapes and the careful craft of boutique winemakers globally - your body feels the difference.
How do you collaborate with others working towards a better world?
"People may not remember what you did or said. But they will remember the way you made them feel." That is all about empowerment. It is so important to me that people feel valued, heard, and respected. From an authentic, vulnerable place I hope that when I engage with people I make them feel that way - happier than they were before and ready to take on the next thing in their own lives
Is there anything else you want to share with our readers?
I think what I love most about Scout and Cellar is that it’s been an opportunity to grow and challenge yourself plus provide freedom! I know that if it’s achievable for me, it’s achievable for other women as well- our founder emulates so much of what I want to be as a woman so I think this creates conversations and pathways for our potential that open up this opportunity to anyone that wants to be apart of can!
