1. Can you share a little of your journey with us and who you are?
I am a biz immigration attorney, entrepreneur, and immigrant from Slovakia. I moved to the USA in 2007 with 700 USD. Back then I was a fresh law school grad with no idea how to survive in the USA. I decided to work as a server in a restaurant and later applied to another law school because my degree from Slovakia didn't mean much. After I graduated Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago I decided to move to NYC where I sat for the Bar Exam searching for employment. The market was full of unemployed lawyers so I couldn't land a job. My visa was about to expire so I quickly had to figure out my next steps. I started my own company. Since then, I have helped many entrepreneurs who wish to move to the USA to start a business & get them an investor visa.
2. Tell us about the mission of your brand- how does it empower women?
My mission with my ImmigrationBiz business is to really empower those who wish to live in the USA. I understand the value that this country provides, and therefore I decided to help those who are like me: driven and passionate entrepreneurs who wish to move to the USA start a transformational business. Essentially, my mission is to help people fulfill their potential and live their dreams. It's also to empower people- Show them we are creators of our reality, and we can be and do whatever we want. If your American Dream is to move to the USA and start a biz-my company helps with that. However, my personal mission is to raise a consciousness of myself and others around me. That is my lifetime mission.
3. What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to press through as a female entrepreneur? What are the steps you had to take to overcome it?
There were several challenges. FIrst, I had to learn English obviously. Then, apply to a law school and pass the Bar in the USA. Starting my own business with zero experience and no cash, in fact with -100K in debt was another. When I started the business I had a co-founder. We split after 3 years in business, so my next challenge was to learn how to manage everything on my own. Then, it was how to scale the business. Multiple it 5x or even 10x. Now, I am at another challenge now to automate and optimize the process to go to 7-fig. What steps did I take? Well, first of all, I started to meditate and taking care of my mindset. It's the number one challenge, especially if you're an entrepreneur. You're your own boss and therefore you must stay on top of your game. Second, I had to learn how to deal with failures and understand that it's a good thing. Third, I had to learn how to be flexible and always be willing to adjust the course. Lastly, I had to trust myself and my dreams. Nobody will ever buy from you if you don't believe in your service or a product.
4. What sets your brand apart from others?
I am not just a mediocre immigration lawyers. I see myself as a crazy dreamer, a visionary, entrepreneur, and of course I am an immigrant. What I preach I do. Lastly, I am a spiritual being having a temporary human experience and I am also an empath. I don't even like to give myself a label. It feels very limiting.
5. How do you collaborate with others working towards a better world?
First, my taking care of myself. We can do help others if we help ourselves first. I believe that self-love is the corner stone of the happiness. The world needs happiness and therefore I am hoping to help others to be happy by fulfilling their dreams. I have my youtube channels: www.youtube.com/immigrationbiz and www.youtube.com/marietaoslanec where I spread my message to others including other SM accounts. I am working on my book Love is the Law that will be released soon.
6. What advice would you give to female entrepreneurs in the beginning stages of launching their brand or business?
Believe in yourself and never doubt yourself. Your dream is there for a reason. Trust it. Also, listen to your intuition. It never lies. Lastly, when in doubt understand that you are a child of God/Universe/Higher Power whatever you want to call it. When you feel the fear just think about this and suddenly you become empowered. It always helps me. Last piece of advice: it's OK to fail. You need to fail in order to be successful, so don't be afraid and also don't be a perfectionist. We only grow via failure, so go for it.
