Meet Allie Biddle: Boundaryless

Allie is a sweet soul who represents her personality through her work! She is creating a better world everyday and empowering females everywhere- read to find out how! She’s all about supporting the “Mom+Pop” shops and much more! You can go to her website here!

1. Tell us about the mission of your brand- how does it empower women?

I really just want to make things for a living, and I sort of fell into stationery! Through this line of work, I hope that my line radiates a lot of joy and encourages human connection with sincerity! (: Throughout the past 4 years, I've had women reach out to me with such kind words and encouragement, and I really try to return the favor not only in words, but in dollars, to other female artists.

2. What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to press through as a female entrepreneur? What are the steps you had to take to overcome it?

There's definitely moments where I feel like I'm not taken seriously as a business owner. I don't know if that's because I was 22 when I got started or if it's because I'm female, or maybe both? I've definitely had people question what I do for a living at the bank, or at the county clerk, or even at parties. I try my best to not see boundaries for myself, and I refuse to see myself as an underdog.

3. What sets your brand apart from others?

Well, definitely in the beginning it was my hand stitched greeting cards. Embroidering on paper is a very time-consuming production practice, and I've found a way to make it work for me. I think now more so, my brand is not only named after me, it kind of is me? It's like my brain on paper, and I just get really excited when people relate or find joy in the work.

4. How do you collaborate with others working towards a better world?

I try my best to source recycled papers and packaging material that is as friendly to the Earth as possible. It's not lost on me the irony that I'm a stationery designer with an environmentally-minded heart. 95% of my paper is through French Paper in Michigan, a pioneer in hydro-powered engineering and recycled papers. I also just really love working with the local businesses that carry my work across the nation. Each of those Mom + Pop shops are people trying to do what they love and support their local economy. That's a beautiful thing!

5. What advice would you give to female entrepreneurs in the beginning stages of launching their brand or business?

My biggest piece of advice is to start now, because you're never gonna be ready. Also, don't try to be anyone else, or do what everyone else is doing! Be you, because no one else can do that. No one has the brain that you do (:

6. Anything else you want to share with our readers?

Just that you can find me on Instagram at @allie.biddle and on my website at alliebiddle.com (: Thank you!
